For nearly fifty years, The Studio Museum in Harlem has presented a wide range of public programs that bring the Museum’s mission and exhibitions to life. Surveying prevalent issues in contemporary art and black culture, our programs, including artist talks and panels, hands-on workshops, thematic tours and book clubs, inspire dialogue around issues that affect our community most.

Taking art history, cultural influences, and source materials as points of departure, these programs—all of which are free and open to the public—demystify artistic and creative processes, and encourage public engagement with contemporary art and artists. Because the Museum values public access, community participation, and arts education, all talks and panels are followed by a Q&A segment, and artist- or curator-led tours of the exhibitions. For more information, please e-mail PublicPrograms@studiomuseum.org.
